When a complete LED downlight fails, who’s responsible?
In theory, the supplier who sold you the complete lamp. In practice, it’s rarely that simple.
The Blame Game with Complete Lamps
- Driver fails — Supplier says the housing design caused thermal stress
- Housing warps — Supplier says the driver generated excessive heat
- LED module degrades early — Supplier says the operating environment is the issue
One problem, three possible responsible parties, and nobody accepts blame first. The customer bears the cost of the delay, the negotiation, and often the unresolved defect.
With ECO LED Kit, Responsibility Lines Are Clear by Design
Because the components are separate — and chosen by you — the responsibility for each component is equally separate:
- Driver issues — Contact the driver supplier. They have their own warranty system, technical support, and return process.
- LED module issues — Contact the LED module supplier. They have LM-80 data, lumen maintenance warranties, and brand-level support.
- Housing/structural issues — Contact ECO LED Kit. We designed it, we manufactured it, and we own this responsibility completely.
Why Separation Works Better Than Integration
When one supplier provides the entire lamp, they also control the narrative when something fails. They can point to any component — including ones you can’t verify — and shift blame. You’re not in a position to push back because you don’t have independent data on the components.
When components are sourced separately, each supplier stands behind their own product. No cross-blaming, no fuzzy accountability. You identify which component failed, you contact the responsible supplier, and you get a direct response — because there’s no one else to point to.
From “negotiation drain” to “direct accountability.” Your after-sales cost drops, and your resolution speed increases.
ECO LED Kit housing kits do not include drivers or LED modules. Customers source and install their own certified components.
